IIIT Lucknow had the privilege of hosting a thought-provoking session in collaboration with DoT Lucknow to celebrate #WorldTelecommunicationandInformationSocietyDay 2025, commemorating 160 years of ITU’s contribution to technology for humanity. The event offered deep insights into the transformative role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in building an inclusive, intelligent, and digitally empowered India. We engaged in an inspiring panel discussion on “Pioneering Roles of Women in Information Technology – Gender Equality in Digital Transformation,” which emphasized the importance of equitable representation in shaping our digital future. From exploring DoT’s impactful initiatives to learning about global opportunities through ITU, the session broadened our understanding of how digital infrastructure and innovation are crucial pillars in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047. The discussions also reflected on the recently concluded Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, which stood as a remarkable example of how ICT was effectively deployed to deliver secure, smart, and seamless connectivity—demonstrating the successful integration of technology with cultural and spiritual heritage. The session was inaugurated with a visionary address by the Additional Director General of Telecom (ADG), UP East LSA, which set a forward-looking tone for the discussions. A truly inspiring and enriching experience that beautifully brought together vision, passion, and possibilities—leaving everyone motivated to contribute meaningfully to the future of technology and society. #IIITLucknow #WTISD2025 #ITU160Years #ViksitBharat2047 #DigitalIndia #WomenInTech #DoT #Mahakumbh2025 #TechForHumanity #InclusiveInnovation #DigitalTransformation
