Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Hon'ble Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development, visited the International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIITH) campus today to interact with the institute's leadership, faculty and researchers. Prof Sandeep Shukla, Director IIIT-H presented an overview of the institute, followed by an exhibition of research demonstrations where Dr. Pemmasani interacted with faculty and researchers showcasing socially impactful innovations from IIIT Hyderabad's various research centres. Commending the institute on its accomplishments, Dr. Pemmasani encouraged researchers to strengthen their focus on translating cutting-edge research into real-world deployments. He emphasised prioritising high-impact ideas with clear pathways to societal benefit and revenue generation, developing solutions that can scale to meet national needs, and partnering with system integrators to ensure research is meaningfully deployed and widely adopted. The institute appreciates Dr. Pemmasani's guidance and looks forward to further strengthening its efforts to translate research excellence into solutions that create lasting societal impact.
