⁉️ Why do so many education reforms fall short of real change? Since the 1970s, governments have launched 𝟯𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬+ 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 worldwide to expand access and improve teaching and learning. Yet, progress has often fallen short. In a new blog, IIEP-UNESCO Director Martín Benavides, Graciela Pérez N., and Beatriz Pont explore the implementation gap – the disconnect between policy intentions and what happens inside schools and classrooms. To move forward, IIEP proposes an approach of adaptive implementation, an evidence-informed, flexible, and context-sensitive way of turning policy into practice.
