This week, the Inspector-General of Water Compliance’s (IGWC) Strategic Relations team is at the ABARES Outlook conference.   The conference presents key commodity data, forecasts and analysis affecting the agriculture, fisheries and forestry industries.    Delegates explore growth opportunities in productivity, food security, land use, climate and sustainability, data and technology, and innovation.    Currently grains, oilseeds and pulses, along with livestock and livestock products, are Australia’s leading exports. However, horticulture is on the rise. This is of particular interest to IGWC staff since horticulture makes up a significant portion of water use in the Murray-Darling Basin.    #murraydarlingbasin #agriculture #horticulture #waterregulation #watercompliance
