The battery energy storage system under construction in Kelmė will be able to store enough electricity for an electric vehicle to travel around 1.5 million kilometres. But the number itself is not the main point.  Energy storage systems allow excess electricity to be stored and used when it is needed most, helping to balance electricity generation and consumption. Simply put – when more wind or solar energy is generated than needed, it is not lost. It is stored and used later. This is one of the solutions that will make renewable energy more reliable. #EnergySmart #IgnitisRenewables
