🚨 New paper alert! ❓ Do you know X-ray dark-field imaging? 🩻 Standard X-rays create images from differences in X-ray absorption. In X-ray dark-field, contrast instead comes from detecting small-angle scattering of X-rays, caused by microscopic lung structures such as alveoli. ⚠️ X-ray dark-field imaging of the lungs provides novel measures of lung health, but it has been typically performed in projection during a breath hold, since most x-ray dark-field techniques require multiple sample exposures. 🚀 This paper presents the first time-resolved 3D x-ray dark-field lung imaging in mice, achieved via a single-exposure grid-based imaging approach and revealing local changes in lung microstructure over the breath! 📄 Read the paper: https://lnkd.in/e4s2Y5Di Authors: Ying Ying How; Nicole Reyne; Michelle K Croughan; Patricia Cmielewski; Daniel Batey; Lucy Costello, Ronan Smith, Jannis Ahlers, Marian Cholewa, Magdalena Kolodziej, Julia Duerr, Marcus Mall, Marcus Kitchen, Marie-Liesse Asselin-Labat, David Paganin, Martin Donnelley, and Kaye Morgan
