How do you measure something that vanishes in microseconds? At the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (INP Greifswald) e.V. researchers needed to capture the 3D path of a plasma jet that is barely 0.1 mm wide. The answer: five synchronised IDS uEye CP cameras, recording the very same instant from every angle and rebuilding the discharge as a 3D point cloud. See how they did it.
