Detecting a drone against a cluttered background is harder than it looks. A standard frame-based camera always records the whole scene. A small, fast target gets lost among everything that sits still. An event-based camera reacts only to change. A still background stays dark in the data, so a low-flying drone in poor light stands out, with microsecond timing and very low latency.
