New Study from the Infectious Diseases Epidemiology Lab (iDEL) Sheds Light on Hidden Mpox Exposure in Ghana  🇬🇭🦠📣 Before Ghana reported its first human mpox cases in 2022, evidence of prior exposure may have already existed. Our findings challenge the long-held belief that Ghana was unaffected by human mpox prior to the recent global outbreak and highlight the need for enhanced viral surveillance and preparedness across the country. 📍 Conducted by researchers at the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) led by Irene Owusu Donkor and in collaboration with partners from the Rocky Mountains Lab, USA.
