"Everybody's building AI. Nobody's building for me as a CIO." That's the realization Sunny Bedi kept arriving at while dozens of companies pitched their tools to him as former CIO of Snowflake. The pattern was consistent, said Sunny, founder and CEO of Whirl AI. Many agents and tools were built for a unique persona: the CRO, the CFO, the Chief Legal Officer. The CIO was often expected to enable and operationalize all of it, but no one appeared to be building for that office. The deeper issue was that serving the office of the CIO isn't typically a single use case. It means bringing data, security, LLMs, process automation, and tooling together in one coordinated system with a team that has expertise across all of it and a unified experience built on top. As a CIO, Sunny knew he had to build a platform to deliver these outcomes to the IT team seamlessly.
