Every few seconds, a child dies from preventable causes like a missed vaccine, untreated malnutrition, or lack of basic health services. And now, as global health funding is cut back, even more children are at risk of losing access to the care that could save their lives. But effective solutions already exist: locally led approaches, in the hands of communities closest to the children and families who need them most. What we believe is needed now is sustained support to help those solutions reach more children, in more places, with greater consistency. That’s why, today, we announced the Child Survival Initiative, a $100 million ICONIQ Impact philanthropic portfolio supporting 18 locally led organizations delivering nutrition, immunization, and frontline health services across Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. We’re grateful to Rick Moskovitz and Nancy Siegel Moskovitz for their leadership and partnership, and to the grantee organizations working every day to help more children survive and thrive. Together, we can help ensure these solutions reach the children and families who need them most.
