ICMR has developed and validated the ICMR-Sickle Cell Stigma Scale for India (ISSSI) through a multicentric, mixed-methods study conducted across SCD-endemic regions. The scale provides standardized, culturally appropriate tools to assess stigma among persons with SCD and their caregivers, supporting research, program implementation, and policy evaluation.
