šŸ“Š PUBLICATION ALERT | Bridging the Implementation Gap in Dengue Control We are proud to announce that the research protocol for our DREAMS initiative (Dengue Reduction through Education Awareness and Monitoring in Schools) has been officially published in BMJ Open! True public health impact cannot happen in silos. DREAMS introduces a multidisciplinary effort to transform schools into active hubs for public health in Puducherry by fostering deep intersectoral collaboration across three key government arms: 1. Department of School Education, State Training Centre, Puducherry 2. National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services, Puducherry 3. ICMR- National Institute for Vector Control Research šŸ”¬ The Science Behind DREAMS: Utilizing a Hybrid Type 3 effectiveness-implementation design, this study focuses on the "how" of delivery while simultaneously measuring real-world health outcomes and vector indices. Guided by implementation frameworks like CFIR 2.0 and the Behaviour Change Wheel, we are training school teachers as "DREAMS Ambassadors". This structural alignment enables educators to deliver contextually grounded knowledge, leading a community-wide shift in vector control practices that ripples from the classroom into households and communities. By proving the real-world feasibility and acceptability of this tripartite alliance, this model aims to provide a scalable framework for sustainable, implementation-driven vector control in low-resource settings.
