वनानि जीवनस्य आधारः Forests are the foundation of life.   This World Environment Day, we take you into the lush wilderness of the Satpura Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh.   In partnership with the MP Tiger Foundation Society, ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth (the CSR arm of ICICI Bank) has been supporting ecological management and wildlife conservation across the reserve while helping strengthen the communities living around it.   Together, we have contributed to:  -A 5x increase in the Barasingha population—from 16 to 79 in the Matkuli range  -Development of a 20-hectare enclosure with 1,800 metres of specialised fencing  -Revival of 79 ponds and creation of 74 new ponds, with an annual water storage capacity of nearly 25 crore litres  -Donation of 20 fire blowers, helping prevent many forest fires  -Rescue of 75 wild animals  -Installation of 270 camera traps for wildlife monitoring  -Positive impact on over 16,000 lives across 89 villages  -Empowerment of 126 women through 13 Self-Help Groups   This World Environment Day, let us celebrate and protect our forests—the foundation of life.   Numbers are at March 31, 2026.   #WorldEnvironmentDay #SatpuraTigerReserve #ForestConservation #Barasingha #Sustainability
