Industry Collaboration: Enzyme Bioprocessing at ibvt As part of an eight-month industry collaboration with the Kaesler Research Institute (Cuxhaven), our team—Bea Rölke (Master’s thesis), Rebecca Schreck (student assistant), Theo Weise (student assistant), and PhD researcher Jan-Angelus Meyer (project lead)—has been working on bioprocess development for an feed enzyme application at Kaesler Nutrition GmbH. Within the project, we established a robust yeast-based cultivation process and successfully scaled it from 2 L up to 100 L bioreactor scale. We just finished the final 100 L pilot-scale proof-of-concept cultivation, followed by downstream processing including cell separation with a disc stack separator, to demonstrate reliable performance and process transferability. This week, we are pleased to welcome Tobias Höing and Georg Kruse from #Kaesler at our pilot plant lab at the PVZ (Center of Pharmaceutical Engineering), joining our team to accompany the final run. #ibvt #PVZ #TUBraunschweig #IndustryCollaboration #FeedEnzyme #BioprocessEngineering #EnzymeProduction #ScaleUp #Yeast
