💡Imagining and building wise machines: The centrality of AI metacognition Last month, we had the pleasure of hosting Prof. Dr. Igor Grossmann from the University of Waterloo on our IBT Research Talk Series. He makes the case that today's AI systems are getting smarter, but not wiser. The missing piece? Metacognition: the ability to reflect on one's own reasoning, acknowledge uncertainty, and consider other perspectives. He argues this is exactly where current systems fall short, and lays out how it could be benchmarked, trained, and built in. Igor shared some great insights with us; watch them in the video below. 📹 And for the full story, dive into the paper here: https://lnkd.in/e4Z8b3mn Institute of Behavioral Science and Technology (IBT-HSG) University of St.Gallen Tobias Ebert, Christian Hildebrand, Emanuel de Bellis, Clemens Stachl, Ruben Laukenmann, Michael Ohlinger, Anne Wendelken, Maruša Pintar
