🎖️ Meet Anais Roger, one of the winners of the ibidi Paper Award 2026 in Neurobiology! Anaïs carried out her award-winning work at Aix-Marseille University in France and is now continuing her scientific journey as a postdoctoral researcher at Queen's University in Ontario, Canada.🧠Her research focuses on fascinating communication between the nervous system and the immune system, especially how sensory neurons can influence inflammatory responses 📚 She has been recognized for her first-author publication in the journal Immunity by Cell Press. In this study, Anaïs and her colleagues uncovered how TRPV1+ nociceptors and neuropeptides help regulate immune cell behavior during viral infection. A key finding: substance P can reduce CXCL1-driven neutrophil migration via MRGPRA1, revealing an important tolerance mechanism that helps control inflammation.
