🚗 What does Vehicle Motion Management have to do with brake and tire emissions? More than you might think. Vehicle Motion Management is evolving beyond driving dynamics. The way a vehicle accelerates, brakes, and controls its motion also influences physical processes such as non-exhaust emissions. That's exactly what we are exploring in KoFeMo (Combined Investigation of Particulate Matter and Mobility) – a collaborative research project investigating how vehicle motion, traffic conditions, and environmental factors influence non-exhaust emissions under real-world driving conditions. Together with Technische Universität Braunschweig, the German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V.), and our research partners, we are generating data and insights that help advance future Vehicle Motion Management functions. 💬 "What fascinates me most about KoFeMo is that we are now able to understand the relationship between vehicle motion and non-exhaust emissions in much greater detail. The better we understand these interactions, the more effectively we can develop future vehicle functions." Toni Feißel, Technical Expert for Non-Exhaust Emissions, IAV 🧠 KoFeMo shows how modern vehicle engineering comes together. By combining expertise in Software-Defined Vehicles (#SDV), #Powertrain, #VehicleMotionManagement, #AI, simulation, and systems engineering, we are turning research insights into intelligent engineering solutions. We believe innovation starts with understanding the vehicle as an integrated system – and transforming that understanding into the next generation of intelligent vehicle functions.
