A system can be safe – and still be a security risk. Think about a modern vehicle or an industrial system. Its safety functions may work exactly as intended. But once these functions are software‑based and connected, they also become potential attack surfaces. If security is missing, safety alone is no longer sufficient.    This is why safety and cybersecurity can no longer be treated as separate worlds. We look at both together. Safety and security risks are assessed in context, design decisions are made across disciplines, and protection mechanisms are developed within a shared framework, from function level to system architecture. This helps avoid gaps, reduce redundancy and strengthen overall system resilience.    The message is clear: Safety without security is no longer state of the art.   🎬 In today’s video, we take a closer look at how combining safety and cybersecurity creates systems that are not only safe, but also resilient against targeted attacks. Our cybersecurity and safety expert Marco Siebert is looking forward to your questions and thoughts. Just drop a message or start the discussion right here in the comments.
