🔐 #QuantumComputers are becoming reality and they fundamentally challenge the security of our digital infrastructure. A good reason for us to address the consequences already today. The powerful quantum computers expected to become commercially available within the next five to ten years, cryptographic methods currently in use -such as RSA and elliptic curves - will lose their security guarantees. Therefore today’s #Cryptography, the security foundation of many digital systems, must be redefined. The risk is not far in the future. Systems developed today often remain in operation for ten years or more. If their cryptographic foundations become vulnerable within that time, this creates a strategic security risk that can hardly be fixed later. #EmbeddedSystems are particularly affected. These are specialized electronic control units with limited computing resources, for example in vehicles or industrial applications. They cannot simply be replaced. Security decisions therefore must be made early in development. This is where we at IAV come in. With #PostQuantumCryptography, we focus on cryptographic methods designed to remain secure even against quantum computers. With #IAVPrimula, we make these methods usable in existing system architectures. IAV Primula is a software‑based, standard-compliant solution. It allows cryptographic methods to be adapted over time without redesigning entire systems. This creates long‑term security and planning reliability.
