Jean Pierre Masclet has played a major role in Ian Garlant's life and work. JP Masclet is the grandson of Daniel Masclet, a central figure in the history of French photography. JP's French-American heritage made him a go-to assistant for American photographers working in Paris, including some of the most important fashion photographers of the 20th century such as Bert Stern, Irving Penn and Richard Avedon - a unique training that has made JP a master of visual balance, structural composition and lighting. Ian and Jean Pierre met shortly after Ian began work at Hardy Amies and have collaborated regularly ever since. Over the years, JP has become a great personal friend and supporter and has captured much of his life in photographs, often in stunning portraits. #JeanPierreMasclet #FashionPhotography #FashionPhotography #IanGarlant JP Masclet
