AI ambition is accelerating. Enterprise readiness? Not at the same pace. New research from Harvard Business Review Analytic Services, sponsored by Hyland reveals a growing gap between what organizations expect from AI and what they’re actually prepared to deliver. Here’s what we’re seeing: • 94% say connected data, content and workflows are critical to AI success • Just 27% say those elements are well connected today • Only 39% say their unstructured data - documents, emails, images - is ready for AI The takeaway: The challenge isn’t access to AI. It’s readiness. Too much of the data that drives real business outcomes is still trapped in unstructured content across systems, workflows and repositories. And without the right foundation -governance, access and integration - AI can’t scale in a meaningful way. As our CEO, Jitesh S. Ghai, puts it, “AI delivers the most value when it’s embedded directly into operational workflows, grounded in trusted content, connected data and the controls organizations already rely on.” Organizations that close this gap will: • Move beyond disconnected AI tools • Embed intelligence into the flow of work • Turn AI ambition into real, measurable outcomes Ready to see what it takes to become an agentic enterprise?
