๐โจ Throwback to our Young Scientist Award winners! Today we spotlight Filipp Temerov from the University of Oulu (Finland), one of the winners of our Young Scientist Award 2025, and his inspiring work on solar-to-hydrogen technologies ๐โก Filippโs #research advances innovation in solar-to-hydrogen production through scalable, printed photocatalytic panel reactors designed for cold climates and decentralised applications. His interdisciplinary work combines semiconductor nanomaterials, systems engineering, and techno-economic validation, and is developed within the H2BRIDGE - Advancing Solar Hydrogen Production through Photocatalytic Printed Panels project, which supports affordable and resilient green #hydrogen solutions. ๐ฌ Within H2BRIDGE, Filipp focuses on bridging the gap between laboratory-scale efficiency and real-world deployment. By integrating printed semiconductor photocatalysts with panel-based reactor engineering, his research looks not only at the materials' performance but also at system integration, durability, and techno-economic feasibility. The final goal is to make solar hydrogen a practical, affordable and resilient option for off-grid and distributed energy systems, especially in Nordic and Arctic regions. โ๏ธ ๐ฌ On what this award means to him, and on the broader impact of his work, Filipp shares: โThis award reflects more than a personal milestone; it represents a shared belief that innovation, inclusivity, collaboration and sustainability must go hand in hand. Developing solar hydrogen technologies in the North has shown me how science can empower remote communities, transforming climate challenges into opportunities for growth and collective resilience. I hope it inspires young researchers to see hydrogen not just as a fuel, but as a bridge between technology, sustainability and people.โ ๐ Congratulations again to Filipp for this excellent work and well-deserved recognition! ๐ Stay tuned for the next spotlight on our other Young Scientist Award winners, while we prepare the way for the 2026 competition! ๐ Discover more about past winners here: โก๏ธhttps://lnkd.in/dWuJTTcz
