China is reportedly considering blocking access to its frontier models moving forward, seemingly inspired by recent moves by the US government. For businesses and companies that rely on Chinese models to run and operate their platforms, this will be a very important space to watch, for both vendors and customers. Depending on the shape and reach of the ban, legal considerations may include business continuity, SLAs, updates and upgrades, reps and warranties, licence rights, indemnities, force majeure(?) etc. For customers that are still negotiating these contracts, I would imagine service continuity and model transparency/dependency would become more important than ever. https://lnkd.in/gdq75PDi #AI #artificialintelligence #contract #LLM #opensource
