🎉 Art historian Henrike Scholten receives the Thijssen-Schoute Fellowship 2027! During her fellowship at the Huygens Institute, she will investigate how eighteenth-century miniature painter Jacob Berents (before 1679-c. 1747) positioned himself as both an artist and a 'mathematicus'. Her research centres on a remarkable manuscript, written in a mixture of German and Dutch, containing technical instructions, recipes and lists and summaries of printed books featuring names such as Erasmus, Athanasius Kircher and Anthonie van Leeuwenhoek.
