A power outage isn’t always caused by a fault. Sometimes, it starts with a single malicious packet. As digital substations become more connected, cybersecurity is becoming just as critical as protection and control. This project explores how AI can strengthen IEC 61850 substations by continuously monitoring network traffic, detecting cyber threats in real time, classifying attack types, and initiating intelligent response workflows before an attack can affect critical operations. The concept combines AI, Node-RED, Digital Twin technology, and real-time visualization to create a smarter, more resilient approach to protecting modern power infrastructure.
