For more than 20 years, Hume Bank has partnered with the Rotary club of Albury to support the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal. The Appeal raises crucial funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) in Melbourne, providing world-class care for sick children both in our community and across Australia. Hume Bank staff member, Emma recalls when her newborn boy became very unwell and was airlifted to RCH in Melbourne. After time in intensive care and following surgery, he was fortunately well enough to return home to Albury for further treatment. Emma retells her experience at RCH, “The nurses were so caring for not only my son, but to myself and my fiancé also. To this day I still find myself overwhelmed with emotion when I remember this experience and what we endured. I could not fault anyone that we came across in our stay, be it nurses, doctors or kitchen staff. We have also made several follow up trips and each time, have had faultless care during the most difficult time of our lives.” Stories like Emma’s remind us why this Appeal matters. When families face their toughest moments, access to exceptional care can make all the difference, and together, we can help ensure that care is always there.
