Spent the weekend building something cool with a former colleague and close friend, Rakhesh Martyn - founder & CEO at Hachiko Hachiko is a software platform built to simplify the funding, deployment, and operation of Unscheduled BESS (C&I and non-load applications). By enabling asset owners (both developers and funds) and traders to optimise battery performance and monetisation across multiple markets, Hachiko is unlocking new scale in the clean energy transition. On my recommendation, Rakhesh set his CRM up with Attio. Its easily customisable and is perfect for high-growth teams managing relationships with complex contracts. To help with better visibility of business health, we then built a dynamic forecast model that: • Pulls and ranks deals by size + close probability • Maps revenue growth at the client and portfolio level • Tracks the OPEX and EBITDA of Hachiko over time • Shows Hachiko’s path from pre-seed to profitability It gives investors and internal teams a live view into revenue scale, capital efficiency, and market expansion. As Hachiko’s developer partners accelerate grid decarbonisation and clean energy access, so too does Hachiko’s reach. It’s a clever, future-forward model, and I’m proud to contribute to it. In Rakhesh's words [I forced him to say this]: 'A model like this is the bare minimum for any start-up CEO who is saying they have a good view of their company's performance, no matter the stage. What I did with Hugo would've taken me 1-2 weeks to do on my own, and I would've achieved a much lower standard. Hugo helped me build something amazing with ongoing automation that I couldn't have dreamt of adding on my own' I provide services like this (CRM builds, investor tooling, backend automation) and I bring energy-sector literacy with me! If you’re building in this space, always happy to chat. Don’t hesitate to reach out ⚡
