As traffic volumes rise, urban ports are busier than ever. Fast, reliable logistics and coordination are critical. A new edge‑AI system from students at Spain's Polytechnic University of Valencia is designed to improve port access efficiency and prevent bottlenecks. Built with #Huawei's ModelArts and MindSpore, Virtual Doors improves port access by coordinating gates and reducing waiting times. It uses computer vision and predictive analytics to detect vehicles, validate access data, and manage traffic flow. At the Huawei #ICTCompetition 2025–2026 Global Final, the Virtual Doors team said it aims to scale the system across port cities worldwide. The competition showcased real-world skills and innovation shaping the ICT industry. Student finalists from around the world competed and connected through workshops in Shenzhen.
