Yeehaw, New Data Cowboys 🤠🤎 Last week, we welcomed 44 new students to the HSLU – MSc in Applied Information and Data Science at HSLU Hochschule Luzern. The mission of our Welcome Day? 💰 Ride into the Data Gold Rush and collect as much gold as possible during Project G.O.L.D. by game solution ag. At first, it felt like the Wild West in the saloon at Sinnvoll Gastro: Each group guarded its treasure and tried to outpace the others. But as the game progressed, it became clear that no team could win this rodeo alone. 🏜️ The breakthrough only happened when teams got off their horses, walked across the saloon, and started talking to each other. 🧠 Information flowed across group borders 💰 Gold was exchanged 🤝 Resources were shared And suddenly, the whole town became richer. The biggest lesson of the day: In complex systems, you do not win by riding alone. You win by building alliances. In data science, the same applies. Impact emerges when knowledge flows across teams and networks work together, as our soon to be graduates Andrea V. and Shallau Muhamad can confirm during the Q&A.
