Vulnerability does not discriminate – and it can affect our customers at any time. Bereavement, a new baby, job loss, a house move, domestic abuse. Not every change of circumstance is obvious and it looks different for different people. “It doesn't matter how old you are, how young you are, how much money you have, you can go from being completely independent one day to relying on people to help you,” says Stephanie Feakes, a Senior Vulnerable Customer Standards Manager for HSBC in the UK.
