There was ample activity in the Atlantic this week, with a steady flow of fixtures concluded. While a number of vessels were taken out of the market, additional QELM tonnage also emerged due to continued uncertainty surrounding the Strait of Hormuz, adding some length to the position list. As a result, spot rates remained broadly stable. The fixing window has now shifted into August, with some discussions already covering mid-to-end August laycans. Several requirements are still firming up, particularly those related to FOB transactions. Activity in the Pacific also picked up this week, from both the Far East and the Middle East.
