An insightful evening of exchange in Paris! 🇫🇷 Hopae recently had the pleasure of hosting a lunch with industry leaders at Drouant Paris as part of our Digital Identity Club. It was a fantastic opportunity to step back and look at where identity verification has been—and exactly where it’s going. Our GM Europe and CRO, Bertrand Bouteloup, walked through the major shift happening across the landscape: - From 2015-2022, we mastered "l'art du bricolage" (the art of DIY) with fragmented stacks of OCR, liveness tests, and manual reviews. - Today, compliance measures like PVID are answering regulatory needs, but often at the expense of conversion rates. - Looking ahead to 2026-2027, three critical deadlines will change everything: the rollout of the EUDI Wallet starting in December 2026, the arrival of harmonized AML-R rules in July 2027, and mandatory EUDI Wallet acceptance for financial institutions by December 2027. The future is undeniably digital-native and built on drastic conversion improvements (jumping to 95-99% vs. the traditional ~60%).
