Is AI in healthcare still hype or has it already become reality? We put this question - amongst others - to Ariel Dora Stern from the Hasso Plattner Institute at the European RWD Summit in Berlin: What's one reason the AI hype in healthcare is justified - and one why it isn't? Where are we already seeing real economic value from AI and real-world data today? And what does the role of real-world data in Germany look like by 2030?   Ariel pointed out that AI in healthcare isn't coming, it's already here, embedded in clinical workflows in ways most people don't even notice. Take imaging diagnostics: AI-assisted reads are already standard practice in many settings today. Also, she underscores that clinical trials alone can't give us the full picture like combining and enhancing insights from them with research on RWD.
