HOCHTIEF awarded contract to design and build river water treatment plant for Germany’s semiconductor industry HOCHTIEF has been awarded a contract by SachsenEnergie to design and build a modern river water treatment plant supporting the semiconductor industry in Dresden, Germany. From 2030, the facility will supply industrial water from the Elbe River to companies located in Europe’s largest semiconductor cluster. The contract is valued in the three-digit million-euro range. “This project underscores our strategic focus on high-growth future markets such as semiconductors, energy, and sustainable infrastructure,” said Juan Santamaría, Chief Executive Officer of HOCHTIEF. “By combining design, delivery and operational expertise, we are helping secure critical industrial water supply while supporting the sustainable development of a key European technology hub." The scope includes the turnkey delivery of a high-capacity water treatment plant, including building construction, plant engineering, and process engineering. The facility will operate as a central water supplier for the semiconductor industry in the Dresden region.
