I’m happy to share our new publication with my amazing coauthor, Oscar Galvez-Soriano. In this paper, we examine how the U.S. ethanol boom shaped farmland markets in the Midwest. Our findings show that the ethanol boom substantially increased farmland values, not only through higher corn prices, but also through increased demand for land itself.
