On 10 June, our General Counsel, Alexander Kwok, had the honour of co-chairing Law.com International’s Leadership in Law Hong Kong 2026 conference at the Kowloon Shangri-La — a premier gathering of senior legal minds across the region.    In his opening address, Alexander outlined his perspective on legal leadership in 2026, emphasising that modern legal leaders are no longer simply advisers; they are decision-makers who bear direct accountability for outcomes. He highlighted the profound impact of global instability, including geopolitical fragmentation, rapidly evolving regulatory regimes, and technological disruption, on how organisations lead and govern.  On the subject of AI, Alexander noted that whilst technology continues to enhance the tools available to legal teams, it does not and cannot replace the distinctly human responsibilities of judgment, accountability, and trust at this moment.
