🌍 World Health Day | 7 April 7 April marks the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948. This year's theme is 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 - an integrated approach the health of 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀, recognising how closely linked they are. 🧩 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗛𝗜𝗩 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵? - Way more than you might think!    AIDS was first recognised as a new disease in 1981 and just like Covid-19, Influenza and many other infectious diseases, it has zoonotic origins. This means that the disease spilled over to humans from an animal vector.   ❗𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲, 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗜𝗩 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗼❗ Goal: 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀‑𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 that links human health, animal and environmental systems with human rights and dignity across, prevention, detection, preparedness and response. 🇪🇺  𝗛𝗜𝗩 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗨 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵:   ✅ Strengthen sustainable EU funding for HIV prevention   ✅ Listen and work together with communities  ✅ Keep HIV prevention on the EU’s health security and global health cross border health threat radar   ✅ Improve data and monitoring to drive evidence-based action                                                                                                        🔗 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dwrPG2FE #WorldHealthDay #OneHealth #HIVPrevention
