❓ How do you modernize fare collection for one of the world’s busiest metro networks? To help shape the future of urban mobility, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) partnered with Hitachi Rail to deliver one of India’s largest Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) modernization programmes. The initiative upgraded more than 7,000 ticketing devices across 269 stations, transforming the passenger journey through a seamless, contactless, and digitally enabled fare collection ecosystem. Under the DS24 project, Hitachi Rail supported DMRC’s transition from token-based ticketing to a fully cashless, future-ready mobility platform featuring: ✔️ Mobile & Paper QR ticketing ✔️ Single Journey and Multi Journey QR ✔️ NCMC (National Common Mobility Card) open loop payments ✔️ Cloud ready, interoperable back office ✔️ Real time analytics for smarter operations The result is a faster and more inclusive travel experience for millions of passengers — with reduced queues, improved accessibility, and seamless multimodal journeys across the network. 👉 Read the case study: https://lnkd.in/dhZ3-fNt
