China’s Jiangxi province powers up its first 1000 kV UHV substation ⚡ On June 18, Hitachi Energy’s 1100 kV gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) was successfully energized at the Nanchang substation for State Grid Corporation of China. A core node in Central China’s UHV AC “rectangular loop” grid, the Nanchang substation interconnects multiple provinces, enhances grid stability and enables greater integration of renewable energy.
