Is forex trading halal or haram? In my two decades in the financial markets, this remains one of the most frequent questions raised by investors in the Islamic world. Despite the definitive claims often found online, my experience within the operational infrastructure of the forex industry suggests a much more complex reality. The debate among Islamic scholars is deeply divided, particularly regarding riba (interest) and gharar (excessive speculation). Furthermore, while swap-free accounts are commonly presented as a solution, they come with structural limitations that leave some authorities questioning their true compliance.
