Today is World Autism Awareness Day. Artist and advocate, @moniquemrojas asks people to make the effort to understand autistic friends, family or colleagues. “You’ll build a closer connection by making that effort. That way, when you meet someone on the spectrum, you’ll know how to approach them. Even though everyone is different, awareness helps.” We are grateful for the unique perspectives, connections, creativity and contributions from the autistic members of our communities, families and peers. It's important that we all commit to building that closer connection and making the effort to build a more aware, more inclusive and equitable society. Of course, awareness isn't the end goal.
