You don’t go to work to make friends. This statement was probably coined by the most cold-hearted corporate professional. But after years of experience and a deeper understanding of how work life truly functions, I have only one thing to say - friendships formed at work are incredibly meaningful and purpose-led. In a world defined by volatility and fleeting algorithms, we’re fortunate to have friends and well-meaning colleagues who not only help us make sense of trends but also inspire us to improve our craft every day. These are also peers, friends, mentors, bosses and teammates who stand by you during times of adversity and crisis. These are also guys who are cheering you on from the sidelines. Of course there is competition, occasional arguments, but all that's part of every social dynamic. All I can say is that I’m grateful to have found some real gems over the years, who’ve kept my faith in corporate friendships super strong.
