Industrial communication has always connected machines. Factory-X - The Digital Ecosystem showed how communication can now connect entire value chains. After two and a half years of collaboration, innovation, and shared ambition, one of Germany’s most important Industry 4.0 initiatives is reaching its successful conclusion. We are proud to have contributed our expertise in industrial communication to the Factory-X project and to have worked alongside a strong consortium of partners to help shape the future of industrial data spaces. For Hilscher, one of the highlights was our involvement in the "Information Update and Change Service" use case. The insights gained throughout the project will help us provide our customers with easier access to emerging industrial data spaces and enable new forms of collaboration across company boundaries. Because industrial communication is evolving. It is no longer just about connecting devices, machines, and production systems. It is about enabling secure, standardized, and scalable data exchange across entire supply chains — unlocking the full potential of Industry 4.0. While Factory-X is coming to an end, the journey continues. The technologies, concepts, and experiences developed during the project will continue to shape future solutions and help bring industrial data spaces closer to a wide range of applications.
