Not all new housing supply comes from greenfield developments. Knock-down rebuilds, granny flats, dual-key homes and major renovations can all increase housing capacity and make better use of existing land and infrastructure. As part of its submission to the Senate Inquiry into the Government's proposed housing taxation changes, HIA is calling for the definition of "new housing" to be broadened to better reflect how housing supply is delivered today. If the goal is to increase housing supply, policy settings should recognise the full range of housing solutions being delivered across Australia. #HousingSupplyAU #HousingIndustryAU
