Here’s something truly exciting coming out of the University of Alberta! Researchers at #UAlberta have developed a promising vaccine candidate that trains the immune system to recognize and attack harmful proteins linked to neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease. In preclinical studies, the vaccine helped mice live significantly longer by slowing disease progression. While additional research and testing are still needed, this breakthrough is an encouraging step forward in the search for new treatments for Parkinson’s disease and related neurological disorders. We love seeing discoveries like this coming out of the University of Alberta. Big breakthroughs happen when great ideas, brilliant researchers and a collaborative innovation ecosystem come together. Congrats to Holger Wille, the research team and everyone involved in this exciting milestone! https://lnkd.in/gjGGsB_6
