Fresh air, full bike racks and a slightly emptier car park? For World Bicycle Day today we challenged our Herrmans' colleagues to leave the car at home and bike to work instead. Some of our regular bike-to-work commuters shared what keeps them going: a better start to the day, fresh air, freedom, birdsong, exercise, and arriving at work with a clearer and more focused mind. There was also some very practical advice: make sure you have good clothes, a good bike, and the right attitude. Rainy days included. And then there are the extra benefits, as our Supply Chain Director Joel Kaitfors put it: “2.5 hours of free exercise” every week, plus, of course, “bragging rights.” 😉 World Bicycle Day is a nice reminder that cycling does not have to be complicated or overly ambitious. Sometimes it is fresh air. Sometimes it is freedom. Sometimes it is simply arriving a little more awake than when you left home.
