A special highlight for our 50 Years of Hightech in Action celebrations: This weekend, the cutting wheel of our tunnel boring machine "Rachel" is installed in front of Messe Offenburg, welcoming guests joining our anniversary event. Measuring more than 8m in diameter and weighing 85t, the cutting wheel represents what has defined Herrenknecht for five decades: innovation, precision and underground projects around the world. Originally part of TBM Rachel, it excavated an approximately 7-kilometre-long section of London's Thames Tideway project between May 2019 and September 2020. The complete machine weighed 1,350t and delivered 1,920kW of drive power – equivalent to the combined power of six heavy-duty truck tractors. And the story doesn't end here: the cutting wheel will be refurbished at Herrenknecht's dedicated factory in Kehl and prepared for future tunnelling projects – efficiently and sustainably. We look forward to welcoming our colleagues, customers and partners from all around the globe to relive our history together. 🎉 #pioneeringundergroundtogether #HK50
