We’re proud to announce the launch of the new Working Group on Sepsis and Cancer, led by the European Sepsis Alliance together with leading research, clinical, and industry partners — including hemotune as a founding member. Why this matters: People living with cancer face a much higher risk of infections and sepsis, especially during treatments like chemotherapy that weaken the immune system. For many cancer patients, sepsis is a major cause of unplanned hospital stays, ICU admissions, treatment delays, and long‑term complications. As cancer survival improves, preventing and quickly recognising sepsis must become an essential part of modern cancer care. The Working Group will focus on: • Raising awareness of sepsis • Identifying gaps in clinical care, research, and policy • Improving prevention, early detection, and rapid response • Supporting research and advocacy to protect immunocompromised patients Founding organisations include the European Sepsis Alliance, The Jibraan Chaudhary Sepsis Research Foundation, Blood Cancer UK, AMR Action UK, The UK Sepsis Trust, Sepsis Research, The UK Sepsis Trust, IHU SEPSIS - Comprehensive Sepsis Center, European Society of Intensive Care Medicine - ESICM, and hemotune AG. The Working Group is open to additional partners. Interested organisations can contact Simone Mancini or Nveed C. Chaudhary. #sepsisawareness #cancer #healthcareinnovation #sepsisalliance #nanotechnology #WorldCancerDay
