LithiumDays 2025 at HELM Headquarters in Hamburg🔋 On October 8 and 9, HELM hosted ITEL - Deutsches Lithiuminstitut GmbH for LithiumDays 2025 at its headquarters in Hamburg. Under the guiding theme “How Europe's lithium industry is mastering the turning point,” opportunities and challenges for the European lithium industry in a changing world were discussed. The conference was officially opened by ITEL CEO Ralf Wehrspohn and HELM CEO Stephan Schnabel, among others, setting the stage for two days of engaging discussions on lithium recycling, by-product valorisation, and the future of Europe’s lithium value chain. What hurdles need to be overcome in times of global political challenges and economic uncertainty? How do geopolitical tensions, trade disputes, and tariffs influence supply chains and market dynamics? Perspectives and answers to these questions were explored during two days of high-level conferences. Since 2024, HELM and ITEL have been collaborating to strengthen the lithium value chain and promote circularity within Europe’s battery ecosystem. Hosting LithiumDays 2025 offered a valuable platform for dialogue between science, business, and politics – uniting stakeholders from across the lithium lifecycle. We are inspired by the exchange, insights, and partnerships that emerged during these two days.
